The Shiunji Family Children is a Japanese manga written and created by Reiji Miyajima. It has been serialized in Hakusensha's seinen manga magazine Young Animal since February 2022. The series is based in Tokyo's Seijō neighborhood, in the Setagaya Ward. The story is about an adolescent boy who has never had a girlfriend. He has five sisters and a little brother until his father discloses that he and his brothers and sisters are not biologically connected.

Premise: A family with seven children, including Arata, learns a secret about their parentage.

Plot: The eldest son, Arata, at first feels weighed down by his many siblings, especially his five sisters, until a stunning revelation about their biological relationship upends everything.

Arata Shiunji is a young fellow who shares a home with his five sisters and a younger brother. Because he never had a girlfriend, it seems he will still be single for the near future. One day, however, his father surprises the family with a big secret: he and his siblings are not siblings by blood. Arata now has an unforeseen situation on his hands because of this revelation.

Manga edit Written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima, The Shiunji Family Children began serialization in Hakusensha's seinen manga magazine Young Animal on February 25, 2022.[5][6] Hakusensha has published its chapters in individual tankōbon volumes. As of July 15, 2022, the first volume was published.[7] A total of six volumes have been published as of March 14, 2025.[8] The manga is licensed for English release in North America by Yen Press.[1] Anime edit In February 2024, it was confirmed that the series would get an anime television series adaptation.[18] It's produced by Doga Kobo and directed by Ryouki Kamitsubo, with Noboru Kimura [ja] handling series composition, and character designs and chief animation direction handled by Miki Muto. The music is composed by Akki, Ginnojo Hoshi [ja], and Shota Horie [ja].[19][20] Although the initial two episodes previewed at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo on March 16, 2025,[21] the series aired from April 8, 2025, at AT-X and other networks.[4] The opening theme is "Honey Lemon" (ハニーレモン), sang by Nacherry, and the ending theme is "Like You o(>< = ><)o Love You?", sung by the "Shiunji Family Children" (a troupe consisting of Chika Anzai, Marika Kōno, Rie Takahashi, Hana Hishikawa and Kana Ichinose as their respective characters).[22][4] Crunchyroll is simulcasting the series.[23] Medialink acquired the series for Southeast Asia and Oceania (excluding Australia and New Zealand) for streaming on Ani-One Asia's YouTube channel.[24]
