Watch/DownloadAt Shuchiin Academy's senior high school level, student council president Miyuki Shirogane and vice president Kaguya Shinomiya look like an ideal couple. Kaguya hails from a prominent conglomerate family, while Miyuki is the number one student at the school and familiar throughout the prefecture. Though they both enjoy the other's company, they are too proud to admit their love because they feel whoever does so earlier would "lose" in the relationship. The narrative traces their numerous plots to get the other one to admit or at least express feelings of affection. Halfway through the series, they are able to confess their feelings to one another. After that, attention is on how they take their relationship further and address lingering issues. The appearance and depth of several other characters significantly increase with time as well.
